Suzuki proudly presents the all-new DR-Z4S, a revolutionary dual sport motorcycle designed to take riders anywhere they desire.
Unveiled today at the 2024 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan alongside the DR-Z4SM supermoto model, these exciting new offerings herald a new era of dual sport and supermoto engineering from Suzuki.
The DR-Z4S evolves the legacy of the acclaimed DR-Z400 series, now fully compliant with Euro 5+ emissions standards and equipped with cutting-edge electronic rider assist systems, including the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector and Traction Control System. With it’s modern styling, sharp lines, and LED lighting, the DR-Z4S not only looks the part but delivers enhanced performance through a revised engine and new frame, ready to tackle everything from rugged trails to urban streets.
The new DR-Z4S is powered by a thoroughly updated 398cm³ single-cylinder, four-valve DOHC engine, delivering smooth and controllable power across its entire RPM range. The advanced fuel injection system, featuring 10-hole injectors, ensures easier cold starts and improved combustion efficiency, resulting in lower fuel consumption. Enhanced throttle response is achieved by maintaining the ideal fuel-air ratio, while dual spark plugs and lightweight titanium intake valves further optimise performance. The innovative exhaust system, equipped with a dual-stage catalytic converter, meets Euro 5+ emissions standards, combining environmental responsibility with an exhilarating ride quality!
Designed for agility and durability, the DR-Z4S features a new pipe steel twin-spar frame that withstands rough conditions while providing precise handling. The long-travel, adjustable KYB suspension—both front and rear—ensures that riders experience excellent manoeuvrability on various terrains. Fitted with IRC dual-purpose tyres, the DR-Z4S offers optimal traction for off-road adventures. With front and rear disc brakes and wider footpegs, riders enjoy enhanced control and stability, whether standing or sitting.
The DR-Z4S is equipped with the cutting-edge Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.), which includes the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) to tailor performance to the riding environment. The custom-tuned Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) features a Gravel mode to maximise off-road capabilities. Notably, the DR-Z4S is the first Suzuki model with switchable ABS for both wheels, allowing riders to choose their preferred level of control. With the innovative Ride-by-Wire Electronic Throttle System, throttle response is both precise and adaptable, enhancing the overall riding experience.
The DR-Z4S showcases a compact, full LCD instrument panel that provides clear and legible displays of essential information. Enhanced visibility is achieved through a modern LED lighting system, which includes integrated high/low beam projectors and prominent turn signals. Ergonomics are prioritised with tapered aluminium handlebars for shock absorption and comfort, as well as an optimally designed seat width for rider support. The bike's minimalistic styling reflects a contemporary design ethos while emphasising the performance and versatility of the DR-Z4S.
The new DR-Z4S features a modern aesthetic with simple graphics and trendsetting colours, marking a fresh era in DR-Z design. Available in Solid Iron Grey (YUD) and Champion Yellow No. 2 / Solid Special White No. 2 (C1C), it pays homage to Suzuki’s motocross heritage.
Its sharp styling, inspired by the 2022 GSX-S1000, is complemented by vibrant "DR-Z" decals and an embossed “S” logo on the front shroud, emphasising its premium character. With a bold and functional design, the DR-Z4S is poised to stand out on any adventure.
In summary, the DR-Z4S combines advanced engineering with thoughtful design, creating a dual-sport motorcycle that excels in both off-road and on-road environments.
The DR-Z4S is set to launch in Australia in Q3 2025, with ride-away pricing to be announced closer to the release date. Pricing of accessories are also yet to be confirmed.
